Editorial policy
How we build, check and correct the tools and guides on feeed.top.
What we publish
Feeed publishes free browser-based tools and the guides that explain how to use them well. Each tool has a single job — such as turning a photo into a cross stitch chart or working out an LED resistor — and its guides cover the practical knowledge around that job: materials, settings, common mistakes and the maths behind the result.
Reference data and sources
- Standards first. Where a published standard exists we use it: IEC 60063 E-series values and the EIA-96 code for resistors, standard plywood and lumber dimensions for cut lists, and published optics formulas for depth of field and hyperfocal distance.
- Open data with attribution. Community-measured datasets, such as approximate DMC floss colors, are used under their licenses and credited on the relevant pages.
- Approximations are labelled. When a value cannot be exact — screen colors of thread, real-world filament density, a loaf's final hydration — the page says so and explains what to check.
How tools are tested
Every tool is backed by an automated test suite that runs before each release. Tests check the core calculations against known reference values (for example, standard resistor color codes and published depth of field figures), check edge cases such as empty or malformed files, and check every page for broken links and missing or duplicate metadata. A release is only published when all checks pass.
Guides
- Guides are written to answer a specific practical question and link to the tool they support.
- Each guide shows the date it was published or last updated.
- Tools and guides are for planning and learning. Where a topic touches on electrical or food safety, manufacturer instructions and official guidance take precedence over anything on this site.
Corrections
If you find an error in a tool or guide, email hello@feeed.top with the page address and what you expected. We review every report, fix confirmed errors as quickly as possible and update the page's date when the change is significant.
Advertising and independence
Feeed is funded by advertising served by Google AdSense. Ads are always visually separate from tools and guides and are never presented as recommendations. Advertisers have no influence over which tools we build, what our guides say or how results are calculated, and we do not accept payment for placement in our content.
