C2C graph maker with written instructions
Turn a picture into a corner-to-corner crochet graph with numbered diagonal rows, a written row-by-row pattern, block counts and yarn per color. Also makes tapestry and mosaic crochet charts and fuse bead patterns. Your picture never leaves your device.

What is a C2C graph?
A C2C (corner-to-corner) graph is a grid where every square is one C2C block — three double crochets and a chain space. You start in a corner and work diagonal rows that grow to the full width or height of the piece and then shrink to the opposite corner. A graph of W × H blocks has W + H − 1 rows: the sample above is 50 × 40 blocks, 89 rows and 2,000 blocks.
CrochetChart reduces your picture to a few flat colors in the CIE Lab color space, removes isolated "confetti" blocks that would each need their own color change, labels the colors A, B, C… and writes every diagonal row out for you, including where to increase and decrease.
How to make a C2C graph from a picture
- Add your picture. Click Upload picture, drag a file onto the preview, or paste with Ctrl/⌘+V. Simple illustrations and pixel art give the cleanest graphs.
- Choose the size. Enter the width in blocks (or stitches or beads). Untick Keep photo proportions to set an exact width and height for a blanket.
- Pick colors. Set the maximum number of colors, choose a palette or pick your own colors, and keep Remove confetti on to avoid single-block specks.
- Print or copy. Print or save a PDF with a color list, numbered chart pages and the written pattern, download a PNG, or copy the row-by-row instructions.

Guides
- How to read a C2C graphA C2C graph looks like any pixel grid, but you work it on the diagonal. Once you know where row 1 is and which way the rows run, every graph reads the same way.
- C2C written patterns: row-by-row color counts explainedSome crocheters follow the graph, others prefer words. A written C2C pattern turns every diagonal into a short line of color counts you can tick off one by one.
- How much yarn do you need for a C2C blanket?C2C uses more yarn than most crochet stitches. Here is how to estimate it from a block count — for the whole blanket and for every color of a graph.
- C2C color changes: bobbins, carrying and fewer endsColorwork is what makes a graphghan — and color changes are what make it slow. Here is how to change colors cleanly and how to design graphs with fewer of them.
- How to iron fuse beads (Perler, Hama and similar)Placing the beads is the fun part; ironing decides whether the piece stays flat and holds together. These are the steps that work every time.
- Choosing the right size for a crochet graphGraph size decides three things at once: how big the blanket is, how much of the picture survives, and how long you will be crocheting. Here is how to pick it.
Frequently asked questions
How do I read a C2C graph?
Each square is one C2C block. Start at the bottom-right corner (bottom-left if you are left-handed). Row 1 is that corner square, row 2 is the next diagonal of two squares, and so on. Odd rows are read from the bottom or side edge upward, even rows from the top or side edge downward. The numbers around the chart edges show where each diagonal row starts and ends.
Does it make written C2C instructions?
Yes. Every graph comes with a row-by-row written pattern such as "Row 12 ↗ [increase both ends] (12): 3 A, 2 B, 7 A", including where to increase and decrease. Copy it, download it as a text file, or print it with the chart.
How much yarn do I need for a C2C blanket?
About 0.47 yards of worsted weight yarn per block with a 5 mm hook (0.33 yd in DK, 0.8 yd in bulky), plus 10% for tails and color changes. The color list shows the estimate for every color of your graph.
Is it free? Do my pictures get uploaded?
It is free with no sign-up or watermark. Pictures are processed by your browser on your own device and never uploaded.
Can I choose my own yarn or bead colors?
Yes. Pick a built-in palette or choose Custom and set each color with a color picker. You can also click any swatch in the color list to replace that color with your own.
Can I make Perler or Hama bead patterns?
Yes. Switch to Fuse beads: the design is split into 29 × 29 pegboards with bead counts per color and per board, and each board prints on its own page. We are not affiliated with any bead brand.
